I wanted to do something to welcome him. So, I made him this cute survival kit. I had seen the idea on Pinterest and wanted to make one of my own. I actually used a sewing (thread) organizing kit from Joanns. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPxU1iX3PAkddaySAGdF7LYafVPI9RVCLTb9X2AX6ucZ4pYBFBCFMLKAQuoePtprmsAec_yYS4HEowmpIWcSddYFjMRsrRGFyhiMb8_iwzsrqvF2YUkl3gQQRQKHbGMR2ZEwxelD1Z7uFB/s1600/IMG_2017.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhPxU1iX3PAkddaySAGdF7LYafVPI9RVCLTb9X2AX6ucZ4pYBFBCFMLKAQuoePtprmsAec_yYS4HEowmpIWcSddYFjMRsrRGFyhiMb8_iwzsrqvF2YUkl3gQQRQKHbGMR2ZEwxelD1Z7uFB/s320/IMG_2017.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> I found some cute pencil paper and paper that looked like binder paper to use as the base. I chalked the outside of the "binder paper" with deep red chalk. I used my "George and Basic Shapes" Cricut cartridge to cut out my words. Then, I added a red rhinestone to abbreviate Mr.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpD97AcVv5LlB6VmAmVZZAnvoqz6ab2iOSOGvb6R66zPESL97JDynSzQQNYQmyVKmMxvuF6ox2rXNYIgZDpz0Urvzjy9S41tLwL5CHRHfHOit6npAFoG2kOr9Iz66wbzFdGLp9_Xk1QAUD/s1600/IMG_2018.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhpD97AcVv5LlB6VmAmVZZAnvoqz6ab2iOSOGvb6R66zPESL97JDynSzQQNYQmyVKmMxvuF6ox2rXNYIgZDpz0Urvzjy9S41tLwL5CHRHfHOit6npAFoG2kOr9Iz66wbzFdGLp9_Xk1QAUD/s320/IMG_2018.JPG" width="320" /></a></div> I found the cute idea of what to put inside from the internet. Each item that was added to the "Survival Kit" had a cute reason for being in there.<br />

The other day I came across a cute way to organize and hold all the clipboards in your classroom. The original idea came from:</span></div><div style="text-align: left;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Josefin Slab'; font-size: 22px; line-height: 30px;"><a href="http://web.me.com/ashleynichols1/The_Polka_Dot_Patch/My_Classroom.html" style="color: #771100; text-decoration: none;">http://web.me.com/ashleynichols1/The_Polka_Dot_Patch/My_Classroom.html</a></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivOq9Vb6cdxprFSm6eSwxANss87fr3yBEu538nDlSweLPMwcKZ_XhaefzUVGTuVx2vGDulFREfjTgkbIdjCuhEqPd1YS56uumjQOY70VFnzeIxa8NUjWlcNj2Z8bjQYol8vofPQVS1UIs8/s1600/Pink+Clipboard+Holder.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivOq9Vb6cdxprFSm6eSwxANss87fr3yBEu538nDlSweLPMwcKZ_XhaefzUVGTuVx2vGDulFREfjTgkbIdjCuhEqPd1YS56uumjQOY70VFnzeIxa8NUjWlcNj2Z8bjQYol8vofPQVS1UIs8/s1600/Pink+Clipboard+Holder.jpg" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Josefin Slab'; font-size: 22px; line-height: 30px;">In my classroom, I am kind of going with the black, white, and teal colors (along with zebra and polk-a-dot). I bought my container at Target, during the summer (it is actually an ice bucket). Then, I added zebra and teal and white polk-a-dot ribbon on the handles (from Michael's). I used my "George and Basic Shapes" Cricut cartridge to cut out the letters with vinyl. Even though it is kind of plain, I think it is an adorable way to keep all your classroom clipboards in one place!</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1dptr5OSvN6t1h4Aezj0Q1Q_GbLgURiwIs5tfnfJLGyn-jjc6eWOu0HcMXQxTtdTPtRH6rm20evHRkzp1BdXkIpuSbmy-7lGxTeESkwA1T_gsMHHw4in99aGbVVksQUmJfetxhHuF33IQ/s1600/IMG_1807.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1dptr5OSvN6t1h4Aezj0Q1Q_GbLgURiwIs5tfnfJLGyn-jjc6eWOu0HcMXQxTtdTPtRH6rm20evHRkzp1BdXkIpuSbmy-7lGxTeESkwA1T_gsMHHw4in99aGbVVksQUmJfetxhHuF33IQ/s320/IMG_1807.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: 'Josefin Slab'; font-size: 22px; line-height: 30px;"><br />

I liked it so much I asked her if she could send me her instructions so I could make one too. The differences between ours is that my mom used velcro, I used brads and ribbon and of course we used different paper and embellishments. It was super easy to do and you can get as creative as you would like. I am going to give this to one of my student's parents who already brought supplies in as a donation. We had a back to school BBQ and start school on Monday, so I am sure I will have many more blog postings to share soon. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;"><br />

I was so excited to share them with everyone that I had to take a picture of them right now (in my house). So, when I actually get them into my classroom, I will take another picture and post it. I know they are pretty simple, but I didn't want to add too much to the letters. Maybe I will add a couple of ribbons or buttons....any suggestions?<br />

I am almost finished working on some scrapbooked letters to add a decorative touch to my bookshelf in my classroom. I was recently told about "Pintrest," which is a very neat website where you can find some very cool ideas and sort of bookmark them. It is very user friendly and easy to keep organized. I am hoping that I can recreate a very cute black and white bookshelf I found on there. I am also working on a class banner to hang in the classroom. I am in the process of making rosettes for every section of the banner, then on the first day of school I will take the students pictures and place them on the rosettes. Should be pretty cute and give the classroom a personal touch. Stay in tune, I will post pictures soon.<br />

I made these cute apple thank you cards from the Preserves Cricut Cartridge. I thought it would be nice to have a couple of these handy for when parents donate supplies in the beginning of the school year.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnEucJh47qhBMfISZWdTrmWm5MnluHIWOol2Fs3cAYPE3NM-Yo9AQFRRmLBSZrhzPLxdXiJJAxeRdloKvxm9TW1VsEf_RROgKJwXabjLbGXjwlNbBoyS4DMX-RDwPaLt3_NfsFLnGVUCb7/s1600/Apple+Thank+You+Cards.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjnEucJh47qhBMfISZWdTrmWm5MnluHIWOol2Fs3cAYPE3NM-Yo9AQFRRmLBSZrhzPLxdXiJJAxeRdloKvxm9TW1VsEf_RROgKJwXabjLbGXjwlNbBoyS4DMX-RDwPaLt3_NfsFLnGVUCb7/s320/Apple+Thank+You+Cards.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
